  • I've seen them 5 times. My favorite band. I miss them. No one makes music like this anymore. Never saw them with Gary.

  • @FoxRunMan I think the drummer was called Shaw Wilson

  • Thanks for this upload. I saw the original BR549 line-up (Gary, Chuck, Jay, Donnie, not sure who on drums) at the Sons of Hermann hall in Dallas in the 1990s. They did a straight 3 hour show with no breaks and minimal talk. It was great music and the best money I ever spent for live entertainment.

  • this was recorded in nottingham uk, i was at the front of the stage, one hellluva band and a night to say i was there!they were awesome all night long and mingled with the crowd after the show, for photos and drinks! truly awesome humble guys!

  • @rockinredneck57 - I can remember many a night on Lower Broadway when the band played through w/out a break. I am one of the fortunate ones that was there when the band first formed and and got to watch history being made as it happened . Still have recordings of the band in those early days when 'Bugs' and 'Bones' were still w/ them. I talked to Chuck a short while ago and got permission to post some of that stuff so look for it in the near future.

  • love the old classic sound, the new stuff that's on the radio sucks royally, it's not country it's pop rock crap.

  • without Gary Bennett, they're really not Br5-49.

Of course, your mileage may vary

  • Love that name: BR549! Junior Sample is probably smiling down from heaven at such shenagins! A wonderful rendition of one of country music's greatest tunes. THANK YOU so very much for posting this delightful clip for us to enjoy! :)

  • @operhoot No, Ray's Cherokee Cowboys were among the finest players to ever back a singer. But Donnie Herron could play with any band anywhere. He would have fit right in with the Cowboys. BR5-49 does a great , great job of keeping this music alive today though. There are those that listen to BR5-49 who have never heard of Ray Price, but they get hooked on his style of music through them.

  • Great cover from BR 549!
