Taking an 8-dog Siberian Husky team out for a cart run at Fairview Park in Costa Mesa, CA.
Temperatures were lower than the past few weeks, but still not cool enough for longer or faster runs, so we still took it easy on the puppies.

Don't those dogs get an awful lot of tiring side draft with that rig? Why don't dog mushers use double trees and eveners like draft horses, so that they can run straight?

@userunavailable3095 This set-up is used my the vast majority of mushers and is probably the most effective/efficient, but there are "stick ganglines" available that are a lighter version of double trees and eveners.

Awesome video. Question though: at :28 a man goes by with what looks like a bike ... I have two huskies and this is something I might be interested in doing with them ... so the question: is that a special bike? And where do you get the harnesses? THANKS!

That is a mountain scooter (aka dog scooter) made by Diggler. You can find those at diggler*com We use those scooters to run 1 or 2 dogs. You could also use a regular bike, but I find scooters more suitable. Make sure you get the correct lines and harnesses. Check out alpineoutfitters*net for those.
