I thought Frankie's mental "freak outs" were funny.

Frankie was a complex character, i think the reason she was loved was cause she was misunderstood because of her illitracy issues, if you look at it closer the reason that she drifted to Doreen and Karen was Because she wanted to do the right thing, but wasn't smart enough to know how and needed someone to guide her

love prisoner, watched all the later episodes and some early ones, havn't seen much of the 1981-83 era, the scene where frankie got shot was actually filmed up the road from my house, back in 1979, it's changed a bit, but you'd recognise it if you were there, i think of frankie every time i walk past there (usualy at least once a week) :)

i think that Frankie was the best character in the series. its a great pity that she wasn't in it longer.
