  • Saw Neil preform this last week and i fell inlove with the song instantly

  • Brilliant song! But its actually very hard to sing when drunk

  • I Love this song!!! I Love the divine comedy!!! I Love Neil Hannon!!! but honestly, if that belch came from Neil, I shall say that he belches like a maiden...and that is another reason to love him! He's cute!!!

  • Gotta love a song which is one of the few ever recorded outside Finland which mentions my home country :) (well, propably only because it rhymes with England).

  • I like the humor of this))

when I am in the doldrums I play this one... with a glass in my hand)

  • I love this song. Its fantastic. I find it funny how Neil starts off talking about how there drinking for there fallen friends who have drowned and ends up talking about his lovers being pink and elephentine

  • @alistairburns

Thanks for the tip - it was the right song but not quite the exact atmosphere I was looking for. Bizarrely enough the recording I was after it sounded much more 'rowdy' with a bunch of drunk Irish (at least it sounded to me), yelling things in the background. That's why I loved to drink along to the song as it I figured most of the crowd were off their rockers too lol.

  • @cannonski Search for Divine Comedy tabernacle Drinking Song and you can buy me drink!

  • Oh and if anyone has a copy of the live version, I'd be eternally grateful, or perhaps buy the person who gives me it, a few drinks lol...

  • Love that song, have the original on cd from many years ago. Though I personally prefer the live version, it just had that sort of rowdy atmosphere that seemed to suit the song perfectly.
