My son is 22 months.He understands quite a bit. And he can follow some simple commands. However the only command he communicates to ME and others is "no", or "mama". He can repeat certain words but does not use sentence structures.
For example there is a sweetie that he wants me to open. I have spent about 24 hours trying to get him to say the word "open" but he will not. He CAN repeat the word if he hears it, but he wont use it to communicate his needs.I am a bit concerned about him.
