We were asked to do a suitable technology demonstration video for Leadwerks Engine for presentation at this years Games Development Conference, GDC2010. So it was a pleasure for Pure3d to do a fly-through level to show off the most important and amazing features this cutting-edge engine offers for its users.
The third and last part shows animals after flying through a dried canyon. make sure to take a look at www.pure3d.de for additional informations on our services.

  • Nice engine and graphics.

Looks like a copy of Cryengine3 and NeutronE.

  • Most engines share basic features these days. So you could say if one engine got a material editor, all engines are copying it if they have a material editor too.

But if one engine make a tropical tech-demo (cryengine) and other engines (unigine, leadwerks, NeutronE, Unitiy) then you can say they copy. But on the other hand the custom will be able to compare these tropcial scenes. ;)

  • @HearingEveryRhyme That feature was made redily available in DX 10 but most game devs choose to not use it to its full extent due to resource requirments.I.E. more graphics card power.

  • Looks like Morrowind Overhaul Project... :)

  • The LOD streaming is kind of impressive: Look at Fallout 3, and you will understand what kind of lagging is possible with LOD. However, the shadow draw distance is distracting. Mafia 2 had the same issue: shadows would appear literally meters from the camera. Not a terrible thing, but in an open world setting can be distracting. I would skimp on the polygon count and improve the shadow and texture qualities. :)

  • terrible pop up veggies

  • meh

There is a solution for it. Dont go large scale, go smaller scope and take care for gameplay and environmental interaction first place. But no one is wise enough to listen.

  • lOOKS LIKE RED DEAD REDEMPTION

  • I wish games would have engines that allowed for a decent amount of interaction with vegetation. I hate walking through a bush, it really kills the mood.

  • Leadwerks + Runescape LOL

  • Pop ins!!!!!! SHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN.
