Great channel! Through and through, the best vinyl sounds available on the Net. Thank you!

Morris Levy owned K-Tel and Adam VIII Ltd. He also owned Roulette records. He repackaged a lot of songs into those compilation records at the expense of sound quality. No telling how much money artists lost in royalties to him. Just ask Tommy James from Tommy James and the Shondells. He doesn't have a lot of good thgings to say about him.

My very first live concert in 1966, when there was a rumor Sky Saxon had cut off his hair. After the Allman Brothers( then called The Hour Glass) played, Sky Saxon ran out on stage, took off his hat and all that long hair flew down -- the girls in the audience went wild. I was 12 at the time but will never forget this. Great concert.

Sure do! As a collector, I collect both as the labels are different. One is probably the first pressing (but I don't know which one).

Must be from your K-Tel album!
No problem - post the videos and I'll tag them as response videos.
Cheers!

I think I have this radio station comp album with this song on it (probably from the 60's) its like a K-TEL album, with the grooves so close together. I swear my copy has NO BASS on it and the sound is really compressed, in mono. sounds higher than this. I am serious about this. maybe if I find it i will post it, but hopefully this doesnt get taken down... WOW!!! I also have a very embarassing recording of Sky Saxon on the radio talking about the Rolling Stones.

Those K-Tel albums were extremely compressed so that they could fit 10 or more songs on each side. As a result the sound quality really suffered - no bass, no dynamic range.
But for most kids playing it on a typical record player of the time, it worked!
