I would not swap them for the world. They are part of my life's rich and wonderful tapestry. I have experienced great lows but without which I would never have experienced such highs. The thought of taking drugs to 'flatten' my joy and sorrow is equivalent to a flatline. It would appear that the brain changes caused by SSRIs cause greater withdrawal problems than heroin - a few days of flu like symptoms. I reject your paradigm totally. ;-)

I take issue with your theme which is that depression is 'bad' and that drugs are needed to cure this condition. An analogy I use is to compare mental anguish with physical pain. As much as I would like not to feel pain it is well known that those who are unable to feel pain actually die young. I am an old man now but when I look back on my life I see the necessity of those times where I experienced emotional pain. In fact those times were actually defining moments in my life's experience.

I give you props for how you presented this. Any 'advice' provided to the public can be dangerous. I am currently in between withdrawing one anti-depressants and starting a new one. I never really paid much attention to the infrequent and relatively mild zaps. Didn't think about how they usually occurred when I had not had enough sleep. And didn't really think about the eye movement. Well now it all comes together. Good to know it lessens at least for you. More power to ya.

I had sudden jolts when falling asleep... Always wondered what the hell?? I do the "misstep" before going to sleep where I fly forward but this was different it was electrified or something... Zoloft is crap and turned my gut to crap! I only hurt myself or thought of doing so when I was ON antidepressants. They said I was also bipolar and had OCD but I got off their meds and I'm happier now! Nothing is wrong with my brain! Diet, activity and natural remedies have worked much better for me!

@nervousneuron a really strange cult. look them up when you get the chance. all thier videos got taken down of Youtube for some reason. lady only talked through possession from another spirit. never used her own.

....but I lowered my own dose (and told the Dr. after wards), as I had heard Zoloft was having some bad adverse effects with some people...anyway...wow... You are so funny... I LOVE how you explain things on your vids. Think I'm addicted :P!!!!
PEOPLE SHOULD JUST NEVER START DRUGS AND THEN THEY WON'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH THEIR NEGATIVE CONSEQUENCES! IT IS A CHOICE!

Hahahaha. These withdrawal symptoms that I talked about in this video, they were nothing, absolutely nothing compared to what I was trying to stop.
It's not a black and white situation you know. Doctors spend a lot of time both studying and gaining experience with patients so they can make such decisions and even then, many a time cannot get it right. So I doubt some random internet person is going to know any better.

I was on Paxil years ago...found out I was pregnant with my thrid-born, so went off of it cold turkey... I knew EXACTLY what you were talking about when you were talking about the 'ZAPS'...as I went through the same withdrawal...plus I also had Vertigo/dizziness...ugh it was HORRIBLE...and it went on for a few months. So not only was I pregnant, going through morning sickness...but also had the 'zaps'! WOW... they had you on such a high dose! I was on 150 zoloft when they first started me(now)

@Rebecca71Jeanine
Damn zaps plus morning sickness must suck :(
Yeah, when I got referred to a psychiatrist, he took me off the zoloft completely. It was a GP prescribing me the meds.
