Support for Amma's Water Project (Click "Show More" for more details)
Jai Karunamayi!
Many villages in India suffer from fluoride contaminated water which they use for all their daily needs including drinking. This problem called 'Fluorosis' is causing physical disability in addition to causing diseases like Kidney failure, stomach and mental disorders.
Amma was moved by the plight of these innocent villagers and so she brought some Scientists and water specialists to the table to find a solution - which was digging borewells, installing a specialized filtration system, and building a protective housing around it. The total cost varies per project but is approximately $20,000 to $25,000 (Twenty to Twenty Five Thousand US Dollars). Five projects have already been completed and three more have been started, but there are about 175 more treatment facilities to be constructed.
Amma's children from some areas (Atlanta, New Jersey, Dallas, Washington D.C., etc.) created teams and pledged to provide the needed support for atleast one village from each area.
We are therefore reaching out to devotees and friends of Amma to make a monthly pledge or a one time contribution. As a token of appreciation, a plaque showing each name of each region (e.x. "Washington D.C. Support") will be displayed during and after completion of the project.
Any person can contribute to these water projects in helping humanity who are in need of pure water for their daily livelihood.
