Antiwar Panel at CPAC 2010 (Part 2 of 2)

Everyones talking about the political upset at CPAC (Conservative Political Action Conference) over the weekend, where Ron Paul won the presidential straw poll.

A panel that wouldnt have been allowed at CPAC a few years ago was well-attended at this years conference: Youve Been Lied To: Why Real Conservatives are Against the War on Terror.

Co-sponsored by the Campaign for Liberty, Ladies of Liberty Alliance, and the Future of Freedom Foundation, it was attended by over 300 people. The speakers were: * Karen Kwiatkowski — retired U.S. Air Force Lieutenant Colonel * Philip M. Giraldi — former CIA counter-terrorism specialist and military intelligence officer, current Francis Walsingham Fellow at The American Conservative Defense Alliance, and weekly columnist for Antiwar.com * Jacob Hornberger — founder and president of The Future of Freedom Foundation * Bruce Fein — former associate deputy attorney general in the Reagan administration

An excellent speaker. The first video started of just a bit slow but this guy has some hard hitting imagery. The guy at the beginning is very cool, very educated. Awesome.

Your generalizations are ridiculous.

What we are experiencing worldwide is a system based on ego, the need to have power and control. The essence of the word liberty is a right to all of humanity. A forum such as this, is progress. Teachers/Students, we are.

The other main issue I would have is their complete contempt for our troops, these are the kids who spit at our soldiers when they return home and protest outside recruiting stations nation wide. Foreign nationals are not protected by our Constitution and should never see the inside of one of our civilian courts. The only other thing that comes to mind is these people seem like the type to also take PC to a new level. I could be mistaken on the last one.

How was the weather down there in ideological land? While I agree with 90% of what they had to say, the other 10% is significant and disturbing. These are the people who will let violent criminals out of prisons, release enemy combatants from detention, legalize drugs, fail to enforce borders and I have serious doubt that these people would ever cut one single social program and would probably expand them.
