Walking after foot surgery

Alan took this video of me on day 3 after being able to bare weight on my after surgery foot, (he didn't know you can't turn the camera). So it's been over one month and this will go down as being one of the most difficult things I've had to physically do. For the first 4 weeks I've stayed off my foot as directed, and when I did get up I used my crutches or was wheeled around with my foot elevated. Meanwhile I've watched and felt my left leg muscle waste away and all the while knowing that I couldn't do anything about it because I wasn't supposed to move my foot. I massaged my calf & thigh muscle, but it didn't help to keep it strong. Now I'm faced with the pain of walking and sometimes I think my determination alone is not enough to get me there like I thought it would. I'm hoping to be rid of both crutches by Friday. Keep me in your thoughts and prayers and send all positive thoughts. I will do it!!! The next video I upload will be of me walking without crutches :o)

i had something crush my foot at work and a result of that i had to get my foot operated on. i had 3 screws inserted into my right foot. :|

it's been a month+ since the operation, and the doctors are still telling me not to put any weight on it and to keep it elevated.<because of that my right leg has become so skinny since there's no muscle gain.

I fell down my kitchen stairs 02/25/2011, so 3 weeks ago. I had surgery on it and had 5-6 screws placed in my fracture. I have been doing as you said (massaging my calf an thigh; also doing leg lifts and stretches). How long did it take for you to be able to put weight on it? Also, mine is my right foot (driving foot). my job requires me to do a lot of driving. I am open to any suggestions and your experience, Hope all is going well for you now!
