The reason I love this commercial begins and ends with the actor. He takes a silly concept and plays it with legitamate sincerity to the point I believe he wants a relationship with the Garmin. Then the capper is the little throw away brush off with his hand when "they" decide to keep it "professional". Brillaint performance.

for those that live in New York City, my friends and I were having an argument that the highway shown in the commercial at the 6 second mark is the Van Wyck Expressway in Queens, NY. Others argue it's a highway in Florida since later on in the commercial the GPS tells him to take Exit 4? to the I-95...so which is it?
