  • ok I get it

    not enough stage presence

as far as I'm concerned I'd rather be naive and eat in a great restaurant even if it's not as colourful and bright as a Mc Donald's but, then, it's a matter of personal taste.

By the way, I just realized that Charlie Parker looked shabby pretty often , so I'd like to know if anybody out there is interested in trading my Parker collection with a couple of Lady Gaga's cds (she's got a great stage presence...)

  • @scione I appreciate that these guys are monster players, and that they can play rings around me and all but a couple hundred guys in the States.

The point isn't "can they play well, or better than me," but rather, what things could you do to appeal a wider audience that doesn't represent a "sellout?"

Most people experience music with their ears and eyes, and pretending this isn't how people you'd like to reach experience it is naive; it's called "stage presence," and theirs is lousy.

  • @JVTeragarden

they should hire Giorgio Armani to improve their looks and shake themselves like pop stars to make their performance worthwhile

unless you play and write better you should probably reserve your brilliant judgement to things like "project runway"

this band made the history of big bands , if the stage looks shabby e their clothes doesn't come from Valentino it makes no difference to those who have ears

if you listen with your eyes it's your problem

  • Excellent musicians and ensemble, playing a chart that does interesting things for 3 minutes, and the nothing else for 5-1/2 minutes.

This is the sort of self-indulgence that might fill out a set with only 5-6 tunes, but lulls me to sleep.

Look at the stage, it looks like a bunch of strangers waiting at the gate to board their plane to Miami, this is the sort of "we're too cool to put much effort into the visuals" that makes even really good groups like this appear amateur.

  • Amazing saxo solo!! diferent sound means personality and the lines are fantastic.

  • Amazing to listen to the ignorance and arrogance of some of the posters here

  • Man, that alto player's gotta spend some time in the shed. Just sayin

  • hieno big bandi, loppuun sliipattua ,hyvät soolot-erinomainen äänitys, mitä muuta voi toivoa, svengikin on olemassa.thamks for you-great sound.

  • Wow, that crew got skills!!!

  • GREAT BOB!
