  • help shawn. i have a good and proper practice swing which is on plane. But during the actual swing i will always come across the line at the top..... always. please help as i have been working on it without success!

  • @oystersblue The issue is that if your left upper arm crashes into the upper rib cage, then the right elbow starts to pull away from the body and curls the club across the line; I have had the issue for a long time in my golf career and the problem started going away 12 years ago when I realized how the X-factor was destroying both my body and golf swing; please see "golf pro lesson stop crashing" and "Golf pro lesson fine tuning arm motion plane" Shawn

  • Great lesson here Shawn - thanks!

I've noticed Rickie Fowler has a noticeable breakdown of his left elbow entering impact - a minor chicken wing. 1) Is this a "flaw" that his talent is allowing him to get away with?

    2) I have this breakdown myself - how can I get my central nervous system to keep the left arm straight at impact? Or is this a non-issue?

  • @claytronica23 Well; The longest hitter in the world does it too as well as Lee Westwood who is a threat to the #1 spot; the key here is the crash free release to target! Shawn

  • can the chicken wing move cause a pull hook?

  • Yes, and see "golf pro lesson the insanity of golf" to make sure you have the right focus to the target; if you make the ball your target, you are setting yourself up for a nice chicken wing collapse; see also "golf pro lesson timing and tempo update" Shawn

  • Hi Shawn. thanks for taking the time to put these videos together and share them. very much appreciated. I've been having a chicken wing problem at and after impact and have worked on this quite a bit. After watching myself on iphone video (swingreader app) I realized the issue is a stalling of my weight transfer to my left side resulting in my shoulders and arms passing my hips and creating this out of sync situation where my arms have to be pulled in to my body. how can I work on this ?

  • Thank You Mr.Clemens for fixing what my friends called the whirley bird at the top of my swing and then causing the the chicken wing on the way forward.Ordering your cd's as well.Thank you again.

  • Hey Shawn,

Cool vid...how come your left arm bends at top of backswing when you hit real shot??

  • Thanks again Shawn B Donnelly Ottawa
