Turkish dam project threatens historic sites - 18 Mar 09

A project to build a dam in Turkey is proving controversial as concerns over its widespread impact resurface.

Critics say the Ilisu dam on the upper Tigris, in the mainly Kurdish southeast of the country, will severely reduce water flow to Syria and Iraq.

Mohamed Vall reports on the implications of the plan.

@SkyDaddy7 the west cut us out a country? umm actually go search up treaty of sevres...when Kurds, Armenians,Greeks, and even Italians were GIVEN land in Anatolia after the fall of ottoman empire then search up the treaty of Laussane recognition of the republic of Turkey which fought all occupants and gained its independence...

complete story is a propaganda agaist turkey's control over his own water.. dam projects must be completed. this is nothing to do with kurdish population or people.. we are just talking about a dam which will improve agriculture in whole region. so we should support the project for new hasankeyf cıty and ılısu dam
