    Psycho Crusher!!!

  • Capcom of JP officially declared that in the US the "M" stands either for "MISTER" or for "MASTER".

It's lame, if you ask me.

They should just write "Bison" in the western games, and call it a day. Even the character himself doesn't use those titles when speaking of himself, in the english dub:

"Now, face the mighty Bison" (no, the M. does NOT stand for "mighty")

  • Actually, Street Fighter one's Mike is NOT the same character as the boxer in SF2.

The boxer in SF2 was ORIGINALLY INTENDED to be called Mike Bison, and to be SF1's Mike, but before releasing SF2 they changed it 'cause they were afraid of Mike Tyson sueing them.

So for the western market, they switched the names of Mike Bison (it's Mr Bison now), Vega and Balrog.

As an ulterior result of the name switch, SF2's "boxer" (M.Bison/Balrog) and SF1's Mike are now officially two different characters.

  • Actually, outside of Japan the "M" stands for Master: Master Bison. This was introduced in Street Alpha 3, and confirmed in the books All-About Street Fighter and All-About Capcom. Before SFA3, the "M" had no actual, real meaning.

Now, regarding the Bison in this video, everything seems right except for one thing: his cape is gray, not red.

  • Good vid

  • Good vid

  • in usa for mighty,in japan for mike

  • me too. I guess because he looks like a military guy with the hat and everything. I just assumed it was "major"

  • In fact, his name is Vega, as the M stands for Mike Bison, if you can see the street fighter one it will clear all your doubts, as there the boxer, Mike, apears.
