It seems that every third song I post on youtube is about a girl, but yeah, here's another.

This song was originally written for tenor sax but since one of the pads fell off...I played it on soprano.

I wrote this song for the girl that I was dating up until this past Friday. Today would have been our 8 months. ;) She loved it and I thought it was one of my better compositions. My friend and I have been working on rudimentary background chords, but I never did anything with them. :/ So here's a clean, honest version for you.

Anyway, posting this is helping me in my healing process.

Yamaha YSS-475 soprano sax
Bobby Dukoff D-8 metal mouthpiece
Fibracell Synthtetic Reed, medium
Simple reverb added in Cool Edit Pro

  • What ligature did you use? You sound really good

  • @sopranosaxjazz Rovner "light"

  • Nice.....really like the YSS 475 thinking of buying one...do you recommend...Paul caveworm

  • @caveworm It depends on the tone you're looking for. The 475 is a somewhat thick, very warm sounding instrument. If you're looking for a mark VI sound, then go with the 475. The 875 and the 62 is thinner, brighter, and edgier. Get that if you're looking for more of that tinny sound. As for the construction, it's a solid, responsive, and beautiful instrument. I wouldn't trade it for anything.

  • I'm sitting here loving your piece then I see...Aching Ovaries.....

  • @blonski soprano is logical if you play tenor. it will give you a whole different color to use. Soprano also works well for world beat and jazz in 3/4 & 6/8 time signatures.

  • nice sound, what mouthpiece are you using?

  • Nice sound ,and I like your eyes at end of video (o,o)!!

  • nossa eu sou do brasil me encantei, mais esse yamaha tem quase timbre do Selmer mark VI,muito bom gostei!

  • Congratulations, sounds Wonderful !!!

Ps: I'm Tenor Saxophonist, and I have thought about playing Soprano Saxophone Too!
