Diamondback Rattlesnake (Crotalus atrox)

Notice the forked tongue. The snake uses this to "taste" the air and find its prey. Pit vipers, like the diamondback, also use heat sensitive areas in "pits" on the front of their heads to locate their victims even in total darkness.

You right, we remove the rattle snakes from the golf courses and relocate them in areas where no development is planed in the near future.

I'm glad you relocate and not destroy. I don't like people who move into new territory and want to destroy all they fear or don't understand! These guys are mostly docile and will want to retreat from humans, not confront them. They only have venom to eat, not to be killers. Just be very watchful where you hike and play in the desert and never squat behind a bush before checking carefully to be sure you don't end up with a pair of fangs in your arse!

You spelled "write" like "right".I'm calling bullshit.I was walking through the woods one night with no flashlight and stopped midstep and looked down in the shadows.there was a nice little 2ft. copperhead.he looked up at me and I told him"I could have stepped on you, you know."Then he slithered gracefully away and I continued onward.Pigs are a lot worse if you ask me.Snakes will go away 100%of the time if given the chance,you're moving too fast if you happen ontop of one and get bitten.

@wanderer1031 Actually i have a degree in Land and Wildlife management and I make my living understanding "nature and the natural world" I dont fear anything i just understand the consquences of sharing living space with rattle snakes.
