*** About a year ago, this started as a personal tribute. And now over 450000 views! Thank you, thank you very much. ;) ***
You all remember 'Blue's Clues', right? I have to say, I just adore Steve's voice. Not just his normal voice (and singing voice, too), but all the funny accents, sounds, and imitations he did on the show. I thought it would be fun to make sort of a silly montage of them.
The background (made up, FICTIONAL) story is like this: Let's say Steve wanted a certain job (maybe another television show host or something) and to get this job, he needed to show how versatile his voice can be (then Blue suggested playing Blue's Clues to figure out what would be effective to show his multi-talented voice and, well.. you know the drill). So, he came up with this little video. Enjoy!
*** Some facts that need to be straightened up:
1. Steve is not dead, nor was he on drugs. A kids' show host just wasn't going to be his lifelong career (and the balding situation certainly didn't help). After departuring from Blue's Clues, he pursued the real love of his life: music. Indie rock in particular. He made an album called 'Songs for Dustmites', which is pretty good in my personal opinion. He also had a few appearances in short films and plays, and the most recent news I've heard of him (April 2011) was about his new house in Brooklyn. If you're curious about what he sounds like nowadays, check out 'The Moth' podcast, episode named 'Steve Burns: Fameishness' (yeah, that story about dating a playboy model).
2. The main male characters in the show are Steve, Joe, Mr. Salt, Mailbox, Shovel, Periwinkle, and Slippery Soap. The rest is female, so.. Blue is a girl (along with Majenta, Sidetable Drawer, Pail, Mrs. Pepper, and Tickety Tock)! The reason why the creators made a girl puppy blue, a color that is usually associated with boys, was to break the color stereotype.
