Charter Oak PEQ1 Stereo EQ interview is continued in part 2 here with Mike Deming of CharterOak and Todd Atlas of Sound Pure. They discuss the incredible power of the equalizer filters of the PEQ1. There are 6 EQ bands in total, as well as a high-pass filter situated at 20hz at 6dB, as well as two and three switch positions for the other 6 bands. Finally, the unit has left and right trim control to makeup any gain lost in the case of substantial mid-cuts. The unit is a stereo unit and was designed as a finishing tool to be used on the two-buss, or in mastering, but can also be used very successfully used on individual instruments. We have one in the Sound Pure Studios here, and would be glad to discuss what weve learned about this incredibly impressive equalizer. Give us a call toll free anytime at 888-528-9703.
@remyleloup I know- I felt like there were so many interesting things to point out about this EQ that we should just sit down and talk about it. Very true, the Hammer and the PEQ1 are THE two choices for this kind of EQ. With 6 bands the CharterOak does have more sonic capability, but the Hammer is great because of the subtle tube coloration, separate left-right controls. Good thing we've got both and don't have to make the hard decision! Of course with both of those EQ's you can't go wrong.
