FSX: AFS Design Qantas A380 landing on runway 27R at the early hours of the dawn in London Heathrow international airport with very thick fog and misty weather. Visibility was set to 1/8 mile.

This is a CAT IIIc ILS approach and landing. I was only controlling the speed through the auto throttle. I took full control 60 feet prior to touch down to flare, apply speed brakes and reverse thrusters.

The video starts with our plane at 2500 ft as it had just picked up the localizer signal and started to align itself with the runway. Soon its fully established on the glide path as it starts the final approach and decent.

One of my cool fellow simmers had requested a clip of this A380 showing the 2d and virtual cockpits. I tried to show as much of this as possible. I realized after I recorded the video that I forgot to show the FMC! Sorry about that, hopefully will do in the next clip. The plane is by AFS Design (www.afs-design.de). I figured I'll also show all available views of the exterior as well. The model is not as detailed as the PMDG ones, but its among the more decent A380 models out there. You will notice one flaw about the model which is the main landing gears not rotating when the plane is moving on the runway.

Thank you for watching. Please rate and comment. Constructive criticism is very welcome!

  • this vc is better than the wilco a380 v2 one , how do you get this? thanks

  • @17jring Actually the Overland A380 VC is the best one. I would strongly recommend you get that one instead.

This model is by AFS - Design.

  • You seriously need to buy a TRACK IR.

  • @robertozube Noted!

  • Is the AFS-Design A380 Only for FSX or for FS2004 ?

  • @LordMonky1 Not sure, but don't get this one, I strongly recommend Overland A380 instead.
