@Golbez1991 I don't know if it's the best version, but it should have lasted a lot longer then 3 seasons.

Don't forget Press Your Luck, the 90's would've been better with that too.

This version may have been crammed with more gimmicks than Deal or No Deal, but at least HS seemed to want the audience to have fun.
It's quite a shame that this didn't last longer -- the 1990s would have been a more fun decade had Squares, Super Password, and Sale of the Century been extended that far.
The only thing I didn't like about this version was that each episode was self-contained (main game, car game) instead of straddling like the daytime Marshall era and the last Bergeron season.
-
With so many crazy hijinks going on on this version, with action inside or outside the squares, it's no wonder I call this version "Freestyle Squares".

He wasn't arrested. He temporally left the show to do a movie and his brother took over.

Any plans for this era of the Hollywood Squares to be shown on the Game Show Network? I liked the show back then. The Hollywood stars weren't as self absorbed as the ones today.
-
what's also ironic is that the name of the 1986-89 version of the HS main theme is actually called "It's Hip to be Hollywood Squares."
I'm not lying.
what is the name of this song? i like this song.
