Cut our oil consumption, improve our economy by employing millions of people and improve our environmental impact all at the same time... Integrate thin wires (Primary Coils) under the asphalt connected to solar charge stations along the road way and manufacturing and/or retrofitting cars to utilize thin wires (Secondary Coils) under the car's frame near the road surface to utilize INDUCTIVE COUPLING to charge onboard battery banks... fewer batteries means less weight... less weight means more range. South Korea has mad the first leap... click here to see what I mean. http://www.physorg.com/news187331386.html

  • Too bad that wouldnt fix anything, because eventually the roadway would ware out not to mention it doesnt fix the congestion of the interstate system which makes another problem which is, Whos going to pay for the extra power needed to charge cars during super congested rush hour.

  • Let me try to help you understand how this system works. I'll address each of your concerns to educate you more... First, the roadway would not wear out any faster. Maintenance would be required just like on ALL mechanical systems. Second, this system isn't meant to "fix" traffic congestion... Third, there is no need to have extra power during heavy traffic conditions, the system would still function as designed and effect all retrofitted and "system compatible" cars on the roadway....

  • Could it work in snow?

  • Yes, as a matter of fact you could even use this system to melt the snow on the roadway.

  • Ingenious idea, but imagine the expense of rebuilding every road in the entire U.S., including those that were built back in the 1930s. Also, it would likely take decades to build. For projects of enormous magnitude, I still lean more toward the idea of comprehensive public transportation (electric trains, monorails, etc.) for long distances (to lessen traffic) and solar and/or hydrogen electric cars for shorter distances. Also, improvement of the bicycle road system for those who can use it.

  • No, just the IHS not side streets. To charge your car you park at a charge lot or get on the IHS if low on charge. You are correct, It would be a massive undertaking. Nothing we can't accomplish. The IHS was an amazing achievement in itself. Now that 90% of the work is done we could integrate if we wanted. The condition of our current IHS is degrading. We are overdue for an "Overhaul." To continuing being a mobile species we must funnel the Sun's photons to our systems.

  • this is an awesome idea. We just need cars that run on electricity. then we will use a program called cash for gas hogs. we should send this video to the government. then this could all happen in a decade or 2.

  • Oh, I understand now. In that case, I can see no flaws in the idea. You should contact your representative with a detailed proposal and try to get a bill for this introduced to Congress.

  • This is brilliant. Derived from a theory and supported with a sound and factual understanding. Bravo Moony.

  • the problem always is getting it approved. Too much interest at stake!
