Me singing "Batti, batti o bel Masetto" from Don Giovanni by Mozart at IMEA solo/ensemble contest. I know I really shouldn't be attempting songs like this, but my choir teacher told me, since it's my senior year, I should do something hard and just have fun with it, and I wanted something in Italian, since I had never done anything in a foreign language before for contest (unless you count Latin, which no one does). So he brought me this song! haha

  • you have a very good grounding to work on pronounciation and pitch and resonance. keep singing and you will get there :)

  • bravo.. it was very good

  • good effort

  • Three principle recommendations I can make. 1) Work on pitch accuracy. Having fun with speeding the piece up is all well and good, but better to make sure you know where you're going before you get there. 2) Pronunciation. Go through an Italian diction class. It will help immensely. 3) Avoid what they call pop mannerisms, which is that slight gliding into a note rather than hitting it precisely. There are portamentos in some places in bel canto, but it's a little different.

    Keep at it.

  • Ambitious to sing a hard piece like this! Few suggestions, work on the Italian pronunciation. Some of the words were not right. Like "Qui" it's not "Key" like in Spanish, it's "Quee", and also try to bring the vowels out a little bit more when you're singing. :) Your pitch was off at times, but I think that if you tried to do this again, whether in the near future or distant it could be a lot stronger and better. Keep singing! You really do have a nice voice! :)

  • Ouch. WAY sharp on the runs at the end. But then again, this was really ambitious.

  • Wait a few years before attempting songs like these...you were right.

  • ...eh?...

  • Hey, this is not so bad - and very cute! ^^
