@trainkids Yes... That is a great crossing with the Hotel there.

@jpkazarian The K5LA is an old horn, but some P5s and M5s ended up on Amtrak equipment in the "olden days nonetheless. The firest train I believe has a P5, the second one a K5.

@monsterrockstar90 It's a P5

@monsterrockstar90 yea a few of the san diegan locos had a nathan p5 i think...or m5...or p3...it was another nathan model besides the k5las...but most had k5las though.

I rode this train back in 1990 from Los Angeles down to Diego County before the name was changed to the Pacific Surfliner.

hey, thats the same La Quinta inn you got your vid from! about 15 years before!
It sounds like the horns were different in the early 90s they dont sound like k5la horns.

@monsterrockstar90 Last time I checked, Amtrak California (which operates the Pacific Surfliner between San Luis Obispo and San Diego) does not use F40PH locomotives. This line is shared with Metrolink and their locomotives that look like an F40PH have been modified with the extended crew cab. The horns were probably upgraded at the time of that modification.
