  • Yup they're definitely mating I'd have to say. And OH MY GOD that one that flew into the camera at the end of the video scared the crap outta me lol

  • @blackout20001 yes they are huge. They`re back on my front step again, too. Not as many, though, as in past years. It`s a bit ironic because the cicadas really seem to be plentiful this year.

  • They're humping. Kill them before they multiply.

  • Holy..in Germany we call this ''animals'' MONSTERS O.O

  • @07jimaz cicada killers aren't aggressive at all...but there still freaking scary!

  • @alwayzeo Males are significantly smaller though not small as wasps go. Males cannot sting, and are on the scene a shorter time. The females can sting but are much less aggressive than red wasp, for example. It would hurt far less, or much worse, than red wasp (reds hurt BAD) if it stings just after it has taken a cicada, or if it stings with a FULL venom sac---depleted sac= mild sting; full sac = severe sting. If you handle one, you will most likely be stung; step on burrow; or block wasp.

  • @oopsydazt2020.. yikes GREAT footage in deed. I have one near (buried in dirt piles ) my daughters play area..; so they are NOT harmful. You seem very brave with that many near you.

So they do not sting ?I saw it fly in our pool when she & I were in there on Sat. Thank goodness she was under water. When I found the nesting area near her play area yesterday-it made sense why it needed drink so 'close to home '.

SO?? do they sting, i am 41, and only learned today they DONT??
