  • @msmaggie007t : that is so very true. Back when I took piano lessons, my late teacher gave me some Joplin scores... i remember the "maple leaf rag"... for an advanced beginner with at best average talent, this was very hard. But I always liked ragtime, it's joyfull and melancholic and festive and optimistic and sad all at the same time. They sure don' write music like that any more ;)

  • My favorite rag of all time! It sounds SOOOOOOO easy to play but I can tell you it took me over 6 months to master it and I still refine it to this day! Scott Joplin sounds so deceptively easy to play. Not SO!
