Introduction to the Big Green Gathering

What is it? The Big Green Gathering is a 5 day camping event which is currently located in the Mendip Hills in Somerset. It has grown out of the original Green Gatherings of the 1980's and the Green Fields of Glastonbury Music Festival. It has developed organically in response to a desire from people within the green movement for a festival that was focused on Green issues. Now we have somewhere between 15,000 and 20,000 people expected this year. Staying Green is now a bigger challenge than ever. The Big Green Gathering Co. The Big Green Gathering is for people who care about health, the environment, sustainability, our children's future and life in general.

It is a celebration of our natural world and our place within it. As such it is a place for enjoyment, learning and fun.

Unhealthy activities are not encouraged. The only things taken in excess should be love, peace, joy, and friendship."

one of the safest, least druggy, most child friendly festivals... i was saying fight for it... unbelievable trouble from the police compared to the free hand given to various on-grid, hi consumption, hedonist, compulsary cocaine festivals i've worked (no names) but the central organisation gave up as much cos of bitching bitchers like one or two below as much as from police pressure... so you get the bnp and edl cos you bitched your movement to death

We would have been stationary for nearly a week and as for blame if any body had asked me I would have said never give in and never surrender. Sounds like you are the deluded one as in case you didnt notice all the skips were locked about three years ago .....

So when will this go mainstream and begin to preach to the unconverted? Big green cheap dream, found in a skip festival. An excuse for a tribal gathering of delusional kids wanting to avoid responsibility through blaming everyone else.

We need this for democracy's sake but certainly not from an ecological point of view.
