If you want an idea of costs for this please visit my site or pm me.
.
I ended up with an interference fit on shaft that allowed for exact fitting and alignment so collars would not create air gaps in exhaust flow channel. Waterjet requires careful hand filing of the inner shaft cut but the blasted edge texture assists in grabbing the stainless shaft with ground surface.
.
On some tesla turbine designs threading the shaft is the option but if you can have a slight interference fit on the brass collars they can be set screw or pan screwed tight with a touch of locktite on the 4-40 screws. I am still using some 2 part JB as a back-up for assembly but on edges to smooth inside not surface to surface along shaft so light heating will break bond or careful lever via exhaust port.
.
It takes me with errands about 3-4 working days to assemble a turbine but will be taking 1-2 weeks in future. This is a model you can build from parts at http://britgaskets.ca/teslastore.htm
.
I will walk and consult those who may require help and supply basic machined parts where required for a reasonable price.
.
Having high pressure steam is not always tied to burning fuel or consuming btu's in fuel so if you need higher pressure then get more solar concentrators to not have to burn fuels.

  • @ScalerWave

I waterjet the components and customers do thier own machining usually, this is a demo model for customer and I the only machining is the flat on the shaft and collars on lathe.

Spin up in 15 minutes, thanks see the site if you have time.

  • Very impressive work. I'd be interested to see how you machined the parts.

Do you make a water pump version also?
