We went wandering through the villages in the Mamasa region and at one stage started hearing music. The place is pretty remote and we couldn't figure out why someone up there would have a loud stereo on. As we got to the top of a hill, there was a school in the middle of nowhere with a bunch of kids outside practicing a musical performance.
The teachers and parents invited us in to watch the kids and take photos and so forth. So we hung around a while and chatted in broken Indonesian about why we were there.

The area is in the hills 10km west of Mamasa. Near villages such as Taibassi.

or schools! These were the fortunate kids. Most kids we saw didn't attend a school in this region.
And I think a dentist is the least of their worries. Food is probably the most important! Fantastic people despite this.
The dude saying "bagus" all the time was absolutely fascinated that there could a tv on a thing so small! Obviously the first time he'd seen a digital camera.
