But Posse fails on all counts. Not only is it a fairly generic and boring action flick, it wastes a genuinely interesting concept by soaking every scene in camp. It often pays lip service to the notion of social commentary, but its messages are so throwaway that they might as well have focused on making a better western.

I just watched this again on Netflix, and it was better than what I remembered. They even have a lot of historical facts in there regarding Reconstruction era america. The underlying sub plot is essentially how blacks got marginalized and terrorized out of land and wealth in post slavery America. Yes the movie is campy, but hey at least there were black cowboys. Unlike like some films like the Last Samurai being a white guy.

Posse is more of a spaghetti western meaning you can't take it to seriously it aaint the best western or in the top 20 but its fairly entertaning
