'Black Tulips' is a 10-minute short film featuring a werewolf; "the first ever werewolf movie not to use special effects during the transition from Human to Werewolf," as coined by Richard Stanley (director of 'Hardware' & 'Dust Devil'). It was planned out as a small-scale project, something he could take with him down to various film festivals and such as a showcase reel for potential investors.

Cast: Maggie Moor, Richard Stanley.

Crew: Richard Stanley (director, screenwriter), Maggie Moor (screenwriter), Immo Horn (cinematographer), Hagop Matossian (editor).

This is a work-in-progress version, and is waiting on audio postproduction; additional dialog recording and foley sound FX. A DVD release is being planned for the future.

  • She was much better in the Twisted Sister "Come All Ye Faithful" video.

  • I must say..I watched it twice. This is awful. All Yay-sayers in these comments must really like Richard Stanley. And I thought I did!

I love his FotN videos, beautiful and stunning videos. Hardware is one of my favorite movies and Dust Devil is mesmerizing thou lacking coherency, so to say. But this?! It's more like arty-farty without any sense of selfcritisism or realization about what actually amounted from the footage. Homemade style with no feeling or editing..obviously.

  • Did this ever get finished? I'd love to see the final version of it, with all the sound issues ironed out. Intriguing, despite the sound problems.

  • It's a good start to take to film festivals. Certainly a visionary like Richard Stanley is needed in a age of shameless remakes/retreads and overuse of CGI, big explosions and pretty-faced actors that do next to nothing.

  • i love the werewolves!

  • nice work, beautiful history. This short are very little masterpiece...
