Featuring the choke. Most people don't use this.

For the people that reckon a Fram racing filter is Ferrari engine murder, this guy is happy to screw one into his genuine 250 GTO: http://www.flickr.com/photos/7977458@N08/6019176278/in/photostream/

  • a fram will destroy your ferrari

  • @hokman1 Why do you say that?

  • @benjamin308

From my understanding FRAM's use cardboard filters as the internals whereas most oil filter brands have aluminum filters. There have been some concerns that the cardboard filters can break apart and leak material into the oil circulation .

  • @Cabledude The Fram HP1 filter here was the last one I used (UFI thereafter for the sake of originalty). Having said that, I would buy my Fram facing filters from Superformance who are a very highly rated UK retailer of Ferrari parts and consumables. The chap there described the Fram filters as 'the best' and anyone saying otherwise were talking rubbish. I'm guessing he would know best but he's quite an old guy and perhaps he may be stuck in his ways.

  • yeah, they're a bit out of whack. I've since replaced them with 8 SU carbs.
