Gregory Library Watch founder Timothy J. O'Brien discusses the City of Houston's actions regarding the African American Library at Gregory School. The one year old facility was rehabbed for $11 million dollars of taxpayer money. The Gregory is an archive for black history but it does not have any archives yet except for a few worthless boxes of memorabilia donated by staffers. Furthermore the library administrators do not want any working class history to be preserved there because it will reveal how the ruling class, particularly African American politicians have sold their own people down the proverbial river.
With the City of Houston in a massive budget crunch, the Gregory is in danger of being shut down so Mayor Parker can flip the land to property developers who fund her campaigns.
