"Capture the Glow" is a song that was written and recorded by singer/songwriter Connor Millican in a manic 24-hour session on a gloomy winter day in New York City. The song was recorded live, in one take, under a railroad overpass in Queens during freezing rain (the notorious "Woodside Flophouse" can be seen in the background). We shot some b-roll footage before cops told us it was time to move on. The video was filmed by "Nervous Ned" Schenck and David Navarrete using a Canon XH-A1 and a single 400-watt Metal Halide ballast "hydroponic grow light" as lighting. We were testing the AKG Perception 200 condenser microphone, which performed well under these conditions.
