Hey Bro. Which model exhaust tip is this?

I haven't looked at the setup of my exhaust on my 2000 3.5L Intrepid R/T. Is the muffler welded or just clamped to the piping? I've been looking at the shop manual and it sounds like the muffler is welded to the pipe upstream towards the front resonator and clamped to the downstream pipe that goes to the back resonator and tailpipe. I am just asking since you've already done it. I wanted to do a Flowmaster 40 series setup on mine.

@odin5150 The "back muffler" you're referring to, the one right before the tail pipe ends, is not a muffler but another resonator. The only muffler in the "vertical" one. That is what got replaced here. Whether our pal rce2win took out resonators, I don't know.

Hey I'm Looking to install something like this on my intrepid, Do you know what kind of Part number is on that magnaflow?
Hey, man. I have a 2002 trep, and want to replace my muffler as well. I know that for this gen has two resonators and a muffler in between. Did you eliminate the resonators? Did you put the muffler in the same spot as the stock or place it where the last resonator used to go. I'm a bit thrown off by this setup, so any input would be great to get me started on my muffler mods. Thanks!

The front resonator that collects the 2 down pipes from the manifolds is still in place. I cut out the stock muffler and rear resonator (which is what your stock exhaust tip is connected to) and replaced both with just the SS Magnaflow muffler and tip. Hope that helps.

I picked up the muffler slightly used for $35 on Ebay and had it installed at a small local muffler shop. Unless you know someone there, don't take it to a big name exhaust shop b/c they'll try to charge you a ton of money to install it. The shop i go to, the guy really knows his stuff and does great work at a good price.

sounds like S#%T muscle cars are better

Very helpful input. While my car doesn't sound as good as a SBC with a nice exhaust, i think it sounds pretty good for a V6. That and driving a muscle car 350 miles a week to/from work wouldn't really do me well in the MPG department.
Post some videos of your car, let's see what you got.
