A few days ago I commented on the Bush Legacy Project, first on his Legacy # 1, the Iraq War which he had planned starting two weeks into his inauguration. Next I commented on his Legacy # 2, the Body Snatcher Torture Airline network. --- Today I want to comment albeit shortly on his Legacy # 3, the National Debt to which my attention was drawn by an article in USA Today published sometime in October. I went into the Government data bases and found an interesting graph that shows the development of the national debt since before the Mayflower, or so. I KNOW, the dramatic increase in spending is caused in part by the war, but only in part. It is also caused by the Republican tax policies, no offense if you are a Republican. Here are the budget deficits during the last 20 years under Clinton and Bush.
--- I am mentioning this because the over $10 trillion national debt is Obamas inheritance that will give him headaches. Especially when it comes to his promise of change. And even more when it comes to dealing with the recession in light of the fact that the Senate is not filibuster proof. --- While I am at the economy, unlike in the United States, where retail is hurting, Christmas in Germany wasnt too bad for retailers, anyway. In turn, farmers seem to suffer over there because wholesale and retail outlets cant get credit to pay for corn etc. --- Amazon here seems to have had record sales. --- Europe is very much looking to the United States in part with concern because of the Guantanamo situation where it is discussing taking those prisoners and in part because of the global economic situation, showing a great interest in Obamas plans and cabinet. I did some research concerning an institution that became famous under Bill Clinton, mostly because it was used to reward big donors, those that used the Lincoln Bedroom as bed and breakfast. --- It is a government agency known as OPIC, - and no that is not OPEC. OPIC stands for Overseas Private Investment Corporation that not only provides funding to foreign countries but ALSO insurance for private investors. --- The question comes to mind why OPIC or at least a similar set-up could not operate inside the United States. And no, the SBA is running out of money and could not handle major projects anyway. You see, OPIC is currently providing $176 million funding for Georgia projects and this is not the Georgia between South Carolina and Florida. It is the one that had problems with Russia lately. --- As to the parody I mentioned in the beginning I am not sure it is one. It is Rush Limbaughs apparent theme song and is based upon the tune of the magic dragon. The new words target Obama. It goes like this: Comes the Magic Negro.
I dont know about you but there is a line beyond which certain people reveal themselves as racists. In fact, Limbaughs tirades actually reveal that he is thinking with his skin, not his brain. Otherwise he would notice that the Republicans dream to enlist black voters for the next election is a pipe dream. --- This nation has serious problems to solve. I would say the first issue is to ensure that everybody who wants to work should have a place to work. Obama needs every help he can get and in the interest of the nation we should concentrate on giving it to him. Anybody who tries to torpedo the economic recovery or who interferes with national security is forgive me a jerk.--- On a side note, Intel is coming out with USB. --- Demonstrations are being held in Jordan supporting the Shoe Thrower. --- And in England the Brits are upset about Prince Edward who got caught beating his hunting dogs with a 4-foot stick. Dont these guys have anything better to do than go and kill little bambies? I mean come on now!
Happy New Year, Mr von Grabe! You have a wealth of knowledge and experience ...but may I point out that the US CONGRESS controls spending ...and THAT fact explains the BUDGET SURPLUS under Clinton? Because, as you know, the Congress was controled by the Repubs during those years...
Just keeping you honest. Keep up the good work, sir. Your videos are GREAT! I'm glad I found you! Best wishes.

Well, I agree with you at least half. While the Reps were in Congress during the Clinton years, the spending policy was set by the Clinton team who determined priorities and Congress merely went along. I remember how Larry Kudlow - a Republican who in my humble opinion has not a clue - criticized Clinton for excessive spending, but became suspiciously quit when spending sky-rocketed afterwards.
Happy New Year to you and all viewers.

I am actually a-political but at the moment it just so happens that I disagree vehemently with the Reps strategy more than with the Dem strategy. Having been a victim of both Dem and Rep corruption what I am fighting for is elected opfficials to stay out of my legal affairs when I try to recover damages from a crime family that cheated me out of $2 million earmarked for clinical trials of a method to regenerate liver resects in vitro, a process intended to save lives.

I must say " Guhh!" to that tidbit.
My family is fighting with a lawsuit against Clear Channel Outdoor, adn their manipulation of the NYC TLC in order to run us out of business, when they failed to bully or short-circuit us with thier usual methods. Their other competitor Show Media went along with it, because we, the little guy were able to undercut thier price structure. Mobsters wear better suits, but they don't work as hard anymore.

If the lawsuit is pending in New York, including federal Court, watch your back. Clear Chanell has shown up as payor in other states to Senators and Congressmen and we know that Hillary Clinton is a willing recipient of such money, paid to call ex parte judges and/or their law clerks to obstruct justice.

Be very careful, if anything "funny" comes out of the court check with me or go to the FEC website and check for payments to elected officials especially those who nominated the judge though there is a time delay in the FEC data base due to filing deadlines.
