Why do we like silver?

"Why do we like silver?" is a question a lot of people ask about us hoarders/collectors/investors. Using the old British shilling as an example, I try to explain the attraction of silver.

Those 175 shillings in the footage I received and cleaned today (shiny shiny). The lustre of silver is SO much nicer than nickel.

1 pre-1947 shilling =5.7g in weight (0.18 troy ounces). Silver content 50%. Silver spot price today = £11 a troy ounce. 5.7 ÷ 31.1 ÷ 2 x 11 = £1

It true man, even real copper and nickel coins are worth keeping... it's sad that the value of money is dropping even below base metals.. sad...

I like silver because it gives me a sense of security that fiat currency and stocks and such do not offer.

Good to see a video from a UK silver collector. We need to make our presence felt a bit more on YouTube.
