@katarachan2009 yes surgery does help.my mom had this surgery on tuseday july 2011 and is fine you will have a scare but for only a couple months. i really hope this helped you.
Almost year ago was diagnosed with this cancer, and I must say, It's not easy. You have cancer, but people don't understand you because you don't look like a 'regular' cancer patient. It's a long way, but never give up, It will get better.
@katarachan2009 - My daughter was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer in March and she just had her entire Thyroid surgically removed on Friday. There are still stray cancer cells present, so they'll have to do a Radioactive Iodine treatment, which means she'll have to stay in a hotel room completely alone, no human contact, and swallow a lead-lined radioactive iodine pill which will pass through her system in 3 days and kill the remaining cancerous cells. Then she'll be put no thyroid meds.
the doctors told my dad that he has thyroid cancer. they said it is a tiny cold nodule. My family is freaking out and can surgery really help?? plz reply somebody!!
When I was told I had a Terminal Stage 3 Pancreatic cancer, I had no fear..no "Why Me's"..no panic. It's just the way life unfolds. When I was told I had several malignant Melanomas..same reaction. Now, I'm about to find out how serious this Thyroid problem is. Pancreatic cancer has taken me from 186 lbs to 115 lbs. I hear one symptom of Thyroid cancer is weight gain. I might have the answer to my constant weight lose. lol. Ok,,Pancreatic, Melanoma, and now maybe Thyroid. Maybe the Trifecta. :)
Your video helped me but also made me cry because I know what it's like not to have all the family support you need (my dad doesn't want to talk about it and my mom is like well it might not be cancer after I have been told it is). I got the news today I have to have mine come out before Thanksgiving. I have my pre-op the day after my 31st birthday which is Nov 2nd. If you ever need anyone to talk to you can message me, just wanted to let you know this helped me. God Bless
thank you for this video I just had my thyroid gland removed completely about 3 weeks ago, I am feeling good, but I am going to see my doctor next week, kind of worry even though I know the cancer was not spread, not knowing if I am going to received treatment (radiation) how is my body is going to react etc.... your information was very helpful thank you...
Yeah! I'm inspired. Thanks!
