My Cajon

I ordered myself the Cajon assembly kit from Schlagwerk (My Cajon CBA1) and started constructing almost immediately. It was a lot of fun and I'm thinking of doing it again with wood I saw myself instead of ordering it.

Sounds pretty good actually and the building is a huge load of fun because you actually get to know everything about your own instrument.

I tryed to make it cool with Frank from Donnie Darko on the front, worked out rather good. Looks it bit sloppy when you're close to it, but you could call it a 'worn' cajon.

grt cajon :) wot wood is it made from cos its got a really nice bass to it.

It's birch plywood, I think about 12 mm. Only the front- and back plate are thinner, about 6 and 3 I think.

Ahh you bought that cymbal thing from the website too! I well want to get one of them, they sound awesome with the cajon, but it works out about the same price at the my cajon kit... haha. I'm half way through building mine at the moment, the main problem I'm having is lack of proper clamps, got two really ancient G clamps I found in my dad's shed.

Good idea! I happen to have a KP3 and had the same idea when I came across this looking for kids instruments. Nice video!!! And nice drum skillz too :)
