Solve for X is a forum to encourage and amplify technology-based moonshot thinking and teamwork. http://www.wesolveforx.com G+: http://goo.gl/T3qQo

Solve for X is a place where people can go to hear and discuss radical technology ideas for solving global problems. Radical in the sense that the solutions could help billions of people. Radical in the sense that the audaciousness of the proposals makes them sound like science fiction. And radical in the sense that there is some real technology breakthrough on the horizon to give us all hope that these ideas could really be brought to life.

This combination of things - a huge problem to solve, a radical solution for solving it, and the breakthrough technology to make it happen - is the essence of a moonshot.

Solve for X is intended to be a forum to encourage and amplify technology-based moonshot thinking and teamwork.

    Not really.

TED is more of a random combinatorial deal, where people who are doing interesting things explain their work to other people who are doing interesting things hoping that some previously unknown synergy will emerge. Solve For X brings similar people together and asks how their work and ideas can be brought to bear on specific problems... again hoping for synergy, but in a specific context.

Solve For X is like the discussions that take place in between TED Talks.

Solve for X guidelines limit the solutions to the technological. The optimal solving of "unsolved global problems" is done after the first problem of warfare / capital punishment / state killing is solved. All the money spent on offensive wars (versus defensive or liberty-protection wars) and state killing (capital punishment) can help fund many / most of the sci-fi and sci-real challenges that Solve For X is targeting.

Most peculiar. A platform for solving humanity problems created by an entity soon to become one of the problems (privacy monger, huge monopoly never seen before...).

Google, you will not solve the timeline convergence problem because there is no other solution other than dissolution. The sooner you leave the better, that is your solution.
