It was Vince and his people who came up with "the Bushwackers" but it was Williams and Miller who decided to go good-guy. They were passing their prime as it was, and New Zealand fans were giving them flak for their vicious anti-american ways and asked them to tone it down.

Yes, I told that to Luke when I talked to him at a Ring of Honor Show a year ago. I remembered the barbwire matches that the New Zealand Sheepherders had with the Rock n' Roll Express and the Fantstics in Mid-South Wrestling.
