The future of Telstra could cause a fault line to open up between the Coalition parties. Debate will begin in the Senate in the next few days on legislation forcing the telco to split its retail and wholesale arms. The Liberals will oppose the bill and try to delay the legislation, saying it's a blatant attack on Telstra and its 1.4 million shareholders.
I have every confidence that Telstra will continue to deliver results for shareholders - it's a shame that Telstra customers in the bush struggle to get any kind of decent services - fairly clear where their priorities lie!

F***en bull. Telstra is an unfair company whom steal money off thier customers and try to get full advantage on them. e.g. excess charges ($150/GB) over their usage limit. Poor service and expensive pricing should be other reasons that telstra should be split up for the new NBN.
