Images of Messier objects captured at Urban Observatory (most using a Meade 152ED F/9 or an A&M/TMB 105/650 and an ST-10XEI). This is an ongoing project so this video will be replaced from time to time as new Messiers are added.

  • The 34mm will be great. I like the 6.7mm UWA but it's probably going to be too much magnification for the atmosphere most nights. Dunno why they are replacing the computer but the new one should have the same 64,000 object library as the original.

  • How many objects does a meade LX200 Classic have?? I will be purchasing one soon already have lenses and diagonal for it but don't have scope yet there updating the computer.

  • A Classic with later firmware (anything after 1995 or so) will have 64,000 objects in its database.

  • "this video will be replaced from time to time"

does that mean i shouldn't make it a permanent link on my website?

  • Good point - Youtube's system doesn't preserve addresses when videos are replaced. I've created a download link at an address that will remain constant; the link will be updated as new videos appear. It'll be at the website listed in my profile, with the addition of "/messierproject/link.html" to the URL.
