This sort of thing really interests me. I'd love to convert my 94 Caravan to electric. I don't need this kind of burst of speed, but efficiency, low / no fuel consumption and a quiet instant-on car is very appealing to me. May be a mini van is not ideal. There's no spare space for batteries. Under a trucks bed is a good spot. Maybe My father's 90 Chevy 1500 when the engine gives out. It knocks pretty bad under load right now. and he's got the extended bed. More room for batteries. :]

you're not slipping the clutch like you're driving an ICE are you? kinda sounded like it when you took off in a forward gear.

The throw-out bearing is worn / noisy. Really loud when I rest my foot on it.

Well, what I think I really meant was that it sounded like you were slipping the clutch like you would with ICE to keep the engine from stalling, a completely unnecessary action with an EV. ;)

I throw it in 1st gear and completely let go of the clutch, then apply electricity (through the "gas" pedal). I do rest my foot on the clutch pedal, which I know is bad, but I will affirm to you that I did not apply enough pressure to let the clutch slip, but since the throwout bearing is old / worn, it does make a grinding sound, which I hear all the time when I am applying ANY pressure to the clutch, which may also sound like a slipping clutch, which it is not.
