My grandmother used to tell me about lindy hoppers back when she was young (she was born in 1905). She said you had to be careful in crowded dance halls since some of the guys would swing their partner hard enough to knock down nearby dancers.

My Mum is from Belfast where the first GI soldiers were brought to in 1942. They taught them Jitterbug Jive but they had to do in the corners of the dance halls, as the hall management employed walkers who would throw you out if they caught you doing it. This was because it was very unpopular with halls as it stopped the anti clockwise movement of the rest of the conventional dancers !

That was some scary shit ... I dont how they find that amusing...Probably went home with broken neck or dislocated joints i must say!...

So i guess everytime when u turn on music those days people started tossing each other out of windows or into wall ?

Slam Stewart is the bass player, Slim Gaillard is the pianist/guitarist. Both were famous at the time for their hit "Cement Mixer Putti Putti" (one version featured a very young Charlie Parker on alto sax), and made many appearances on radio.
The energy level of the dancers is amazing!
