Putting Leola to bed.

Winter is almost here so on Sunday we went up to the boatyard to put Leola to bed. She's out of the water on her stand, safe from the flood. Her mast has been taken down but Joe and I had to get it off her so we could get the cover on. It was a family job and everyone did their bit to get her tucked up and safe from the weather. It was a lovely clear day at Felixstowe Ferry, but it was very windy so the sound isn't brilliant. Thanks for watching. Cheers, Lesley

She's definitely part of the family! It's good for them to help out and be familiar. The more used to clambering about they are on dry land (still with the danger of a big fall so they have to take care) they will be confident on the water. It's also just more fun when you do things as a family as you know. Cheers, Lesley

Ooh I suppose it was pretty windy again today if I think about it, really whips the water up. I'll make an update when we do some work on her and of course if I can film our first sail next year I will! Cheers, Lesley

It was what we call rather fresh! She's a beautiful but very old lady and after all that hard work getting her into bed, we really enjoyed the sunset. Cheers *hands over warming rum*, Lesley

I hope to do that one day soon, when the better weather comes back.. Have done some housework now, taken Barney for a walk and cleared my mind! NOW it's time for a good few hours sleep, I hope.. :)

Difficult dealing with insomnia. I found a thing which works like acupressure called 'isocones' from Boots they worked really well. You stick them on each wrist like a plaster for the night and they press on a spot. Felixstowe Ferry boatyard is free for anyone to wander round and is very interesting. Cheers, Lesley

You WILL tell me off now, as I should be asleep.. but I have a spell of insomnia.. so guess I'll be tired again tonight! It's a lovely boat, nice to see the prep, what goes in to it all.. and I must say I hope to see the follow up, come spring!! If I ever go to Felixstowe, I'll keep an eye out.. :)

Yeah I've pulled my shoulder so wasn't even sure we could manage it without my dad here. But where there's a will there's a way. It was delayed by us all being ill so the clear weather was the right chance. I feel like she's safe now and not 'catching cold' out of the water with her cover on. Cheers, Lesley
