If there's one thing I could ever want to credit Gary Bettman for, it's the relative ease and good nature in which he does this interview.
In case anyone is wondering why the Commish had drawn such harsh ire from Devils fans, I'll attempt an explanation(though the situation is a bit before my time as a hockey/Devils fan, feel free to correct if I'm wrong, anyone).
In a nutshell, I suppose, the Devils owner at the time, Dr John McMullen was unhappy with the deal he had with the arena and it's owners, the NJ Sports and Exposition Authority, and was threatening to move the team to Nashville. And apparently, it was inferred, by the fans at least, that Bettman was in favor of the move. Its ironic in the 1990s with southern expansion he doesn't seem to phased about teams moving.
Skip to today and he's got his jew claws out to stop any team moving back to traditional hockey markets!
