@yellow. If you believe in god and the so called ideas below, how often are you offering aid to those who need it? I can't reitterate it anymore, the all loving god who causes people to die horrible deaths, starve, rot, be murdered for no reason. And clearly much more. As Sir Attenborough says. It is just not compatible. There is the idea of good/god and evil in us all. It is simply which side we choose to act upon in life and nothing more.
-
@195ashes None of us has the choice of whether or not to exist, it's simply not possible to make that choice. It's not your decision to make. Last time I checked, the creator (not the creation) decides whether or not you will exist.
You're here now, what you choose to do with your life is your choice, but keep in mind that this life pales in comparison to the next.
God created us so that we may have a chance to be with Him in heaven, not so that He can watch us suffer.
-
@yellowmetalcyborg I'm given a choice on how to act within the constraints of a deal I never agreed upon. That's nice. I choose to reiterate my previous polemic. Fuck your mythology and fuck you. You belong to the ignorant infancy of humanity.
-
@195ashes God doesn't condemn us. We have the free will to choose love over sin. He cannot force us to love, so he gives us the choice.
He gives us the choice of handing over our life here on Earth in exchange for eternity in heaven. He also gives us the choice to squander our lives for the empty joys of this life in exchange for an eternity of suffering.
You cannot have good without evil, you need one and the other, suffering and happiness.
It's your choice, your free will, your life.

@yellowmetalcyborg Apparently it is too much to ask for compassion from God; he'd rather us go through his arbitrary tests wherein we are punished with eternal suffering for the fallibilities he apparently gave us. But of course, he'll grant us salvation if we dedicate ourselves to him as if he were a celestial Kim Jong Il. We as a species deserve better than the bullshit theists prescribe. So fuck your God and fuck you, you spineless, sycophantic, God-lover.
-
God created everything, he created diseases so that we may be compassionate towards one another. He did not leave us dead in the water, he also created plants that can cure diseases. It's not God's fault that some suffer from diseases, but our own fault for not offering medical aid to those in need. If life was all fun and games, compassion and love would not be necessary. God's call to each one of us is to love one another.

Great universe god designed for us. We go north we die of cold. Go south, the heat will kill you. Go down, the pressure will kill you. Go up.... guess what, you also die. Only technology, our technology, created by us, Humans, helps.
What I find hilariously ironic is that religious people come on YOUTUBE and complain about progress.
-
We have no need of your god. He doesn't factor into our calculations. Ignoring the religious may piss them off, but it may also clue them in that what they believe is irrelevant to the actual running of a world.

As the mentally deficient would say: "PWNED!"

excellent reply,
the "god did it" crowd always talking about the beautiful things that god does, but when a worm eats your eyes, or an earthquake kills millions indiscriminately... that is just "his mysterious ways"

Whenever David says he doesn't understand the accolades, and the hero-worship, he receives, because he's nothing special (not a great scientist, or a great musician, or anything important), I get so upset I nearly weep. I can't stand it: it sounds like doubt.
Its because you can trust this man, he is so thoroughly decent, that everyone admires him: there are few around with those attributes.
He's my hero - dead-set. Long live David Attenborough.
