tell them they are no trouble. i have 2 budgies who are quiet, smart, tame-getting there and can talk. depends on wht parakeet u want.

this is so cute my sister has a perakeet that love to have its neck itched i have 2 pet rats and a hamster but im getting a perakeet soon you have such a smart bird they are such sweet birds

@michshell531 well tell them that you will take care of it and make sure it has plenty of attention, its hard to tell you what to say because i love birds and so does my mom thats why we have 14 birds so i never had to convince them to buy one.
